| Famous Xu of
Ancient China Recorded as early as the Xia Dynasty (2100-1600 BC), a high government official named Xu Yu served Emperor Yao Ti with devotion. He was even offered the throne of the Empire, but somewhat refused to accept it and only continued to serve as a public official. During the Warring States of Ancient China (475-221 BC), Cho Kingdom has a minister by the name of Xu Tsing; Zhau Kingdom imperial adviser Xu Li, who created a military strategy that defeated the invading Qin Empire. Wei Kingdom has public official named Xu Kuan. Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220 AD) has several famous Xu ancestors: a royal economist & scholar by the name of Xu Zen, who develop the royal "14th script" which was used in ancient time as dictionary; Xu Yang, served as a water management & irrigation engineer of ancient China; Xu Kong, became a historian and wrote the book "Kong Yang Chun Chio" which recorded events happened during the Spring Autumn Era. The Three Kingdoms Eras (220-280 AD), the Later Wei Kingdom has a general by the name of Xu Chu; Shu Han Kingdom, Xu Chin served as royal palace governor; As the three kingdoms continuously fought against each other, Xu Shao, continuously served the people regardless of which kingdom will take over. He garnered the praise from the famous general, Cao Cao, "Sei Tiak Tong" which means "even as chaos rules the land, he rises as a hero of the people". Jin Dynasty (265-420 AD), recorded two early explorers by the name of Xu Sun & Xu Tsun which their adventures were made to great poems describing the landscapes of Ancient China. Northern & Southern Dynasty (420-581 AD), Liang Kingdom (502-557 AD) has a royal doctor of medicine by the name of Xu Tau Li; Northern Qi (550-577 AD) has a minister Xu Theng. Sui Dynasty (581-618 AD) Xu San Sim, served as a public official of information. Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) has several Xu family serving the Empire. A minister by the name of Xu Mong Ruong ; An administrator Xu Ching Zho; public officials Xu Quing Shian & Xu Yuan, both of them with a famous general Zhang Xun gave their lives defending the city while trying to corroborate three tribal kingdoms to fall under Tang rule. Their patriotism was praised "likened to the shining glory of the moon and the sun".; a famous poet by the name of Xu Uin also served as a scholar contributing to the literature of Golden Age of Tang Dynasty. Song Dynasty (960-1279 AD) recorded a great artist by the name of Xu To Ning; Xu Chiong served as an official that function like a appellate court judge in ancient China. Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368 AD), Xu Wei was exclaimed by the people as virtuous & incorruptible public official, not willing to sacrifice the welfare of the people even serving under the rule of a Mongolian emperor. A famous doctor by the name of Xu Kok Chen Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD) Xu Zen a famous doctor was later declared the royal doctor of medicine and later also served as the minister of labor. Ching Dynasty (1644-1911 AD) has a great scholar by the name of Xu Zhong Guan garnered honors in the royal civil service exam. Famous Xu - Co of Modern China Xu Tuo Ran (Co Tok Liong), one of the commander of the Fujian army, later served as an officer ofDr. Sun Yat Sen's revolutionary army that overthrew the Manchurian Government. Became governor- in-charge of Fujian province during the transition of the revolutionary government to the Republic of China. A school is still named after him, in memory of his gallant service, in the town of Chuan Zhou, China. Xu Eing Zi (Co Eing Ti), owner & publisher of the Amoy (Xiamen) Kang Sheng Daily, one of Xiamen's biggest daily. A recent news article in China stated his valiant publishing during the post World War II & Kuomintang government of Republic of China contributed a lot to the journalism of modern China. Xu Eing Chuin, poet & scholar, known to many by the pen name Co Kai Tze, Cousin of General Co Tok Liong & publisher Co Eing Ti. His poems like "A Dedication", "Seas", "Youthful Goddess", " The Lone Sail" & many others were translated to English by Asian & Western scholars in the study of modern day Chinese poetry. The poem "A Dedication" was even made as lyrics to the song with the same title here in the Philippines. |
