Annual Rituals & Cultural Affairs * (a)
As of Chinese descendants, the Kho Family Association has several
rituals & cultural events that they practice annually.
In the start of Spring & during the mid of Autumn in the Chinese
Lunar Calendar, the Kho Family Association performs a kind of worship
to their ancestors, these are called Chun Zhe (Spring Worship) &
Chiu Zhe (Autumn Worship). These practices are done annually for
the Kho descendants to remember their ancestors. The Youth League
is encouraged to participate in these events.
Zhong Chiu Che (Mid-Autumn Mooncake Festival). Annually on the
fifteenth day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, where the
moon is the most rounded, Chinese celebrate the coming of Autumn
by eating moon-like cake. Some also get together to play a Chinese
dice game.
Annual Christmas & New Year Party. Self-explanatory. This two
events is practiced throughout the world.
Annual Outreach Program * (a)
As a part of social responsibility, the Kho Family Association
traditionally sets an Annual Outreach Program where they look for
deserving charity organizations to bequeath. On January 4, 2003,
the Youth League took the initiative to spear-head the annual activity.
Its beneficiary was the Missionaries of Charity in Del Pan, Manila,
an orphanage run by Nuns of the same order where Mother Teresa has
worked during her life time. [make link to news article]
